Panel Discussion at the Brand University of Applied Sciences Hamburg

“Design in the Tech Industry, Career Paths and the New Normal”: Thorge Wandrei at the Brand University of Applied Sciences

Last week, our Product Engineer and Platform Lead Thorge Wandrei took part in an interesting panel discussion at the Brand University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. Many young students listened intently to the alumni of the university talk about “Kickstarting Your Career in the Design Industry” and discuss topics such as women in tech and artificial intelligence in design.

A lot of graduates today face many uncertainties when starting out in the professional world – the pandemic is just one of them, but one that strongly shapes the way we think about work. It has been a challenge for many companies to adapt to the “New Normal” – one which some took on brilliantly whereas others are still trying to find their way.

After having traveled through a few exciting professional stages and ways of working himself, Thorge is now Product Engineer and one of the first employees at bluplanet, the leading reseller for cloud solutions from Salesforce, AppExchange, Agillic and more. Thanks to blupanet’s “Work from Anywhere” culture, he was able to push his ideas within galactical speed (one of the many wordings Thorge is responsible for, too).

„With a hands-on education in your pocket and a willingness to learn new things, to challenge yourself and those around you on a daily basis, you can move up quickly in a short amount of time – especially in fast paced environments like startups“.

For him, this opportunity is provided by the agile start-up structure giving him many freedoms and the young, dynamic team.
